Review Methodology

Every score on Aimora comes from hands-on use. We create real accounts, subscribe to paid tiers where needed, and talk to each app across a range of scenarios before we assign a number.

Every review states its own testing window, along with the exact app version and subscription plan we tested, so you can always compare like with like.

Each app receives a weighted overall score built from seven criteria:

Conversation quality — 25%. How natural, responsive, and coherent the dialogue feels over a long chat.

Memory & consistency — 20%. Whether the companion remembers facts, preferences, and past exchanges without contradicting itself.

Adult chat experience — 15%. The quality, range, and control of mature roleplay and adult conversation.

Customization — 10%. How much you can shape personality, appearance, backstory, and tone.

Voice & media — 10%. Voice chat, images, and other media, judged on quality and reliability.

Privacy & safety — 10%. Account controls, data handling, content safeguards, and transparency.

Pricing & value — 10%. What you get for the money across free and paid tiers.

We use a shared script of prompts and scenarios so every app faces comparable tests, then add open-ended sessions to probe strengths and weaknesses. Testers record concrete examples rather than relying on impressions alone.

Where an app offers multiple tiers, we test the tier most readers are likely to buy and note where a cheaper or pricier plan changes the experience.

Rankings are re-checked at least quarterly, and pricing is verified monthly because subscription costs change often. When an app ships a major update, we may re-test sooner.

Each review shows a last-reviewed date so you can see how current the assessment is.

Some links in our reviews are affiliate links, but they play no part in scoring. Scores are decided before any commercial arrangement is considered, and an app cannot buy a better rank.
